The Swedish von Knorring Family Society was founded in 1976 at a meeting held on the restaurant Solliden at Skansen in Stockholm.

The initiative was taken by Wilhelm von Knorring, now deceased, although the idea of a family society had been considered even earlier. Membership can be applied for by persons named von Knorring as well as others who recognize a connection to the family.

The board of the society is to be elected during the sessions, held every 2nd year. Every 2nd meeting, that is every 4th year, is used to be a bit more extensive.

The task to publish the family book was the characterizing activity in the society form many years. Since January 2000, when the book finally was released, one of our most important tasks is to encourage the knowledge of the family and its history, and to arrange nice meetings every 2nd year. Although our family is one of the most researched ones, there will always be more and interesting news to come.

There are bit more than 100 members in the society today.
