Maybe as some odd item, or merely a confirmation of the family research, You can here see the obituary notice concerning Nikolai baron von Knorring. He was born at the Weissenfeld estate on the 4th of April 1870 and died at the battle of Kreuzburg on the 2nd of February 7/2 1917. He was colonel at the Ulanregiment in Charkov. Se tab. 164 in the family book.

Thanks to Natalija von Knorring who can read russian chyrillic letters we can now be able to understand it´s message:

The obituary notice is signed by the brother Gustav Alexander Frommhold baron von Knorring, se tab. 155 in family book.

On the 4th of Oktober Nikolaj was married to Sophia Pomosanskaja, born on th 10th of February 1875, dougther of the doctor of medicine Feodor Pomosanskaja. Probably due to the Russian octoberrevolution she was reported missing in 1917 at the city ofVoronesj.

Nikolja and Sophia gave birth to

- Sophia, born 1898 and died the same year,

- Elisabeth, born in Bialystok on November 21, 1899, and

- Katharina, born on September 3, 1907.

As the notice must have been published after 1917 and is written i russian, it shows that Estonia was ruled by the Russians at this time...
